ABRADE:
SEDIMENTARY ROCK INFORMATION CENTER AND CANTILEVER IN
BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK
This project was produced in my third year studio for the ASCA Steel Design Competition. This competition is a national competition for any architecture student to enter. Each person or team was allowed one month to produce a long span steel structure.
This massive industrial and open style building was laid out in Sketch Up and came to life in Revit. Then renderings and boards were produced in Photoshop.
We could select any type of building category and the site location. All that was asked for was four, 24 x 24 inch boards that effectively describe your project and purpose. (connected boards below). I chose to do a simple but graphical layout of my project. With perspectives, section cut, site, and floor plans. I feel like I effectively achieved that.
Laser cut model made at 1/8 inch equals a foot.

White mat board and bass wood with orange people accents.
Below is my sketchbook process on how I effectively chose a form for this site.
